International Hubs FAQs
Questions about EDUCATE Hubs
What is an EDUCATE Hub?
An EDUCATE Hub is an organisation which exemplifies EDUCATE’s commitment to creating EdTech solutions which are evidence-informed, by facilitating collaborations between EdTech entrepreneurs and researchers. Organisations who are given a Hub classification are provided with a license which enables them to deliver the flagship EDUCATE research accelerator programme as a recognised EDUCATE partner.
What are the benefits of becoming an EDUCATE Hub?
Becoming an EDUCATE Hub gives you immediate access to our tried-and-tested model for creating an effective, evidence-informed EdTech ecosystem, removing the guesswork and effort from creating a model of your own. Because of this, you also get the benefit of being part of a well-recognised and highly respected voice in the EdTech sector, as well becoming part of a growing global community of EdTech innovators. As an EDUCATE Hub, you will be licensed to deliver the EDUCATE research accelerator programme under the auspices of our brand.
What do I need in order to be eligible to set up an EDUCATE Hub?
To be eligible to set up an EDUCATE Hub, you need to be in a position to provide both the academic research and business support that programme participants will require in order to complete the programme successfully. As such, we usually expect applicants to demonstrate either a pre-existing partnership between a business and research institution, or to have at least identified potential organisations that may be approached to form a partnership.
You can see our full list of eligibility requirements in our guidance on What You Need to Know Before Applying, however we strongly encourage potential applicants to register to attend one of our EDUCATE Hub Discovery Days. During our Discovery Days, you’ll get to hear from company representatives who can tell you more about our brand, how the EDUCATE Hub model operates, and answer any questions you may have.
How much does it cost to set up an EDUCATE Hub?
The License Fee costs x annually, but there will be other operational costs that you will need to be able to finance. As such, we recommend that you have at least £120,000 of unencumbered funds available to help you set up and run the Hub for the first year. See our guide to Setting up an EDUCATE Hub for more info.

What support do you provide for setting up an EDUCATE Hub?
For applicants who successfully pass the first stage of the applicationprocess, we provide in-person training alongside a comprehensive Management Guide to help you get up and running.
